1. Physical Level: Here they de-carbonize and oxygenate the blood, slowing respiratory rate. We now know, as breathing is slowed and controlled, accordingly the mind and body.
2. On Mental Level: Our emotions are calmed down by controlling the breath.
3. So Control of Breathing: influences flow of energy, (its important to understand) in the mind and body. The Prana in Sanskrit is Life Force. The Prana is the sea of vital energy, the source of all particles, atoms, the material world and all life. So all life exists because of Prana. There is no instrument to measure Prana. But some people can see the Auras, Prana or the Astral body. The Prana is also known as Chi or Ki. As most people can't perceive Prana without guidance, they can learn to influence Prana by controlling breath, as an initial step.
4. Divine-Eye: If we are able to internalize our being and focus on the divine eye, the point between eyebrows, we are into deep meditation. The method of So Hans works with breath, attention and Mantra.
The So Hans is a mantra, meaning "I am the Soul", a mantra is a sound formula initiating, healing, strength, peace or devotion. The important function of So Hans is to calm the emotions and internalize Prana the life force.
Practice So Hans method in the beginning of every meditation, after relaxing body and breathing exercises. The method is simple, but must be done before every meditation positively, for one third of the time.
